No one likes waiting, and you shouldn"t have to wait until 4pm to see a chiropractor when you schedule an appointment at 3pm. In my opinion this is not acceptable. Yes there are exceptions here and there, but if those come up you should be educated before or have the ability to reschedule if they can"t fit you in during the time wanted.
Referrals - If the saying isn"t recorded as it goes, it did not happen. Certainly you may have referred your patient to get massage therapy, but where is it in the SOAP note? If you are trying to get that massage visit paid, you better be able to track a referral somewhere. Insurance company denying the importance of your care? Where is your documentation affecting your patient"s visit to the Orthopedic Surgeon whose recommendation was to continue with chiropractic care? You should be recording all referrals to and from your practice. An auditor who looks through your notes and finds none does not conclude that you never refer. He believes that he has found a chiropractor who looks to see what other errors he can find and fails to record thoroughly.
Stretches. There are numerous stretching exercises which are geared specifically towards the lower back. One of the largest back issues is the lack of flexibility, and stretching exercises work on trying to make the back more limber, and thus more prepared to manage any pressure that comes its way.
